Trump Wants to Slash EPA Budget By 25 Percent

The Environmental Protection Agency is withdrawing an Obama-era request that oil and natural gas companies provide information on methane emissions at oil and gas operations.

The justification for this directive was that the data would help the regulator develop regulations aimed at cutting methane emissions-methane is a much more powerful greenhouse agent than carbon monoxide, and the oil and gas industry is the biggest emitter of the gas.

This action also comes after the agency received a letter on March 1, 2017, from nine state Attorneys General and the Governors of MS and Kentucky, expressing concern with the pending Information Collection Request for Oil and Gas Facilities.

Oil and gas wells, pipelines and other equipment leak a large, but not fully understood, quantity of methane into the atmosphere.

But what made it uniquely Charles was that only a few people, fans of the Chiefs and in this case the Saints, saw it happen. With Charles now gone, this opens the door for the Chiefs to draft a running back fairly high in the draft.

The ICR was part of the previous administration's plan to crack down on emissions from existing oil and gas facilities - a piece of President Obama's broader Climate Action Plan. "We believe the EPA's requests to be an unnecessary and onerous burden on oil and gas producers that is more harassment than a genuine search for pertinent and appropriate information". "IPAA welcomes today's announcement as it brings meaningful relief to independent producers across the nation and demonstrates that creating American jobs and developing USA energy is a high priority for the Trump administration".

Pruitt, a longtime friend of the oil industry, including during his tenure as Oklahoma attorney general, dropped the EPA request Thursday.

The Lego Batman Movie continues to hang on at #2, with an estimated $19 million at the domestic box office in its third weekend. Its domestic take is now just over $133 million with its global haul now standing at an impressive $200 million.

The American Petroleum Institute hopes EPA's move is part of a one-two punch, with the Senate also considering using the Congressional Review Act to torpedo Bureau of Land Management restrictions on methane emissions for oil and gas development on public and tribal lands.

The EPA pegged the industry-wide cost of responding to the survey, which probed almost 20,000 owners and operators in the oil and gas sector, at $42 million-or, depending on the type of survey, between $1,200 and $5,160 per company.

Xenophobic attacks continue in South Africa
She advised Nigerians to be extra cautious as it looks like South African government seems to have no control over these attacks. In April 2015, angry unemployed mob targeted foreigners killing them or looting their property.

Apparently that worked. Pruitt halted the inquiry and says he'll rethink what information to request from the companies.
