Police responding to reports of active shooter at Ben Taub Hospital

No injuries were reported.

Especially since there were multiple reports of a balding white male with a gun that were called in to police, authorities dispatched officers within minutes.

Police in Houston said that earlier reports on Tuesday of an active shooter inside a hospital turned out to be false alarm.

The hospital is owned and operated by the Harris Health System and is staffed by the faculty, residents, and students from Baylor College of Medicine. If at Ben Taub, follow emergency response guidelines of the hospital.

Houston police spokesman Kese Smith told the Houston Chronicle that police received reports that shots had been fired at the hospital around 2 p.m.

Dozens of patients on gurneys were seen being wheeled out to a waiting box truck where they appeared to be receiving treatment.
