Workers in NYC Expected to Join 'Day Without Immigrants' Protest

The movement is being organized as a rebuke of President Donald Trump's immigration policies. The #DayWithoutImmigrants was created to underscore just how much the country's economy is dependent on immigrant workers, and it coincides with a surge in immigration raids in several states.

Protests are planned in Washington, DC, as well as Philadelphia, Boston, Houston, Chicago, and New York City, where dozens of retailers will close.

One flier that's been circulating calls on immigrants not to go to work, open businesses, shop, eat in restaurants, buy gas, go to classes, or send children to school. "They are also part of our family here at Little Red Fox and I too am anxious about their future under this administration", Carr said.
