US Coast Guard to suspend search for Canadian 'Sharkwater' filmmaker

The watch standers at Sector Key West Command Center coordinated 27 searches, totaling more than 95 aircraft and surface hours and covering approximately 5,987 square miles - an area larger than the state of CT.

Despite the Coast Guard's decision to suspend the search, Stewart's parents said they aren't giving up.

The U.S. Coast Guard's search for a Toronto filmmaker who disappeared after emerging from a dive off the coast of the Florida Keys on Tuesday will be suspended at sundown.

Officials said 37-year-old Rob Stewart had gone missing Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of Alligator Reef, off Islamorada.

Tyler MacLeod, a close friend of Stewart's, said the costs of sending out private aircraft and boats have reached over $100,000 so far, and they'll need more help if the coast guard calls off its search.

Stewart's family has helped co-ordinate an extensive search since he went missing.

CBS Radio, Entercom Merge To Remain Competitive
Financial terms of the deal, expected to close in the second half of this year, were not released. Changes could soon be coming to the ever-tempestuous Boston sports talk radio scene.

While it wasn't clear what made Stewart go back under water, his sister, Alexandra Stewart, told CBC Toronto earlier this week that it was a "particularly difficult" dive, going to a depth of almost 70 metres.

Stewart's sister has said her brother's dive partner fell unconscious while getting onto a boat - an incident that caused a commotion during which Stewart disappeared.

Stewart is best known for his 2006 documentary Sharkwater, an examination of global shark hunting and its impact on the ocean ecosystem, and was active in underwater filming. The page has raised more than $40,000 since being created.

The Flash Script to Get a Page-One Rewrite
The Flash has a July 27, 2018 release date also starring Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudup as Henry Allen. WB provided no comments on the news, but the recent hire signifies that The Flash is a high priority for the studio.

"We would not still be searching for him if we could not find him alive", said Petty Officer Eric Woodall, a Coast Guard spokesman.
