The Flash Script to Get a Page-One Rewrite

There hasn't been much traction on The Flash ever since Rick Famuyiwa left the project over "creative differences" with Warner Bros.

Variety first reported the news. With the film unable to make its rumored January start date, the studio has been forced to do an overhaul of the script with Joby Harold doing the rewrites. While the film was previously scheduled for a 2018 release, it's been on hold since losing director Rick Famuyiwa, and now the studio has chose to take it in a different direction.

According to PWInsider , the full list of NXT stars scheduled to be backstage this Sunday is, well ... all of them. Smith explained what he loved about professional wrestling and asked how it compares to what WWE is doing today.

WB provided no comments on the news, but the recent hire signifies that The Flash is a high priority for the studio. According to reports, executives had disagreements with the direction of his script. Grahame-Smith wrote a draft as well.

The Flash movie is now without a director, after Rick Famuyiwa left the project in October past year.

The Flash has a July 27, 2018 release date also starring Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudup as Henry Allen. One of those is The Flash - completely separate from the television series of the same name - which has a planned release for 2018. After making brief appearances in both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, Miller will next appear as The Flash in this year's Justice League in November.

Harold has some big projects in the pipeline, as he's written the screenplay for Guy Ritchie's upcoming King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and the new Robin Hood reboot.
