During his campaign, Trump had vowed to repeal Obamacare and replace it with "something terrific". This is said to be a key component of the Republicans' healthcare replacement plan.

All women - not just those on Obamacare - lose protection against insurance companies charging them more than men for the same health care plan.

It also promotes the creation of a system to allow the sale of insurance across state lines, something Republicans have said will increase competition in the health care market.

"To jump off a cliff and say that they're going to repeal healthcare and say in two years, we'll tell you what the replacement is going to be, oh no, oh no".
